Set up Spotify the day before, not on the night. It needs a minute and a Spotify Premium account for playback control.

Common problems
You cannot find where to change your plan
Open Subscription Manager from your profile menu. Everything about your plan, billing dates and receipts is there.
Spotify will not connect
You need a Spotify account with Premium for playback, and you must allow the permissions on the Spotify screen. Connect again from App connections if it has been revoked.
